Following a Vogue photo shoot at the London office of our friends at Achille Salvagni Atelier, a hot pair of hair straighteners were accidentally left on a limed oak table. This resulted in a couple of black, charred marks on the surface of the table. With a bit of polish and a handful of pigments, we were able to remove them.
Even in rainy London, blistering, cracking and faded polish caused by sun damage is an all too familiar problem.
Last week, we were working on this beautiful walnut sideboard that had suffered sun damage, due to being stored beneath a skylight window. Having removed what was left of the original finish, we stained and polished the sideboard to give it a new lease of life!
Welcome to our brand new blog. We will use this space to share what we get up to in the day to day running of the workshop, behind the scenes location work and any unusual or interesting pieces that we are working on.
